an AirGATE RFID reader. The inmate will wave his wrist band over a section of the phone where a concealed reader has been installed. The unique information from the RFID tag is read and enables the use of the phone. This technique provides this customerwith the exact information of the call. This solution can also provide the correction facility a method of tracking inmate’s location, accounts along with controlling inmate’s privileges. The wrist band becomes inoperative once removed from the inmate’s wrist as so does all privileges that require this device.
