Michael Sheriff, president and chief executive officer of the X-change Corporation, has over thirty-seven years of experience in the computer, electronics and telecommunications industry. In 2001 he incorporated AirGATE Technologies as a wireless company. In 1999 Mr. Sheriff founded Net Access Exchange, Inc., dba YPAY with a valuation of $100 million. YPAY was an Internet media network that provided advertisers with a unique and compelling value proposition to reach consumers via the Internet through use of broadband-like rich media over dial-up connections.
Prior to Net Access Exchange Mr. Sheriff founded CyberQuest, a full-service Internet development company that focus edits efforts on Internet commerce in the business-to-business marketplaces.The company's Internet e-commerce flagship, bid4it,developed a new revolutionary "bid-and-ask" matching technology. The site was launched in 1997 as one of the first commodity trading Internet applications. Mr. Sheriff sold CyberQuest in October 1998 to a NASD OTC:BB listed company. He then served as CEO of the public company, CBQ, Inc., as well as being Chairman of the company's Board of Directors.
Mr. Sheriff founded and developed Good Stuff Cheap (GSC),the first to pioneer market Internet-based retail sites. The company was the first to use intelligent shopping agents and was featured in Wired Magazine in December 1994. Internet Marketing Association awarded GSC the top retail site award for December 1995. GSC was also featured on the Discovery Channel in December 1996.
Mr. Sheriff was also the former founder, President and CEO of Action Fax International, Inc. Action Fax is one of the largest public fax networks in the world with locations in airports globally.
Prior to ActionFax, Mr. Sheriff was the founder and President of First National Computer Corporation, which pioneered the rental of personal computers. Under his direction, First National Computer became one of the largest PC rental firms in the United States.
Mr. Sheriff's other prior positions included senior sales, marketing and management positions with National Semiconductor, Northern Telecom, SYCOR, Inc. and SINGER.
Kathleen Hanafan
President, Chief Operating Officer and
Director
Kathleen Hanafan, Chief Operating Officer, joined AirGATE in
2007 where she is responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of the
corporation. Ms Hanafan has 20 years of executive experience driving revenues for both major corporations and highly successful niche-focused companies. Ms. Hanafan was founder, president and CEO of Onit Communications, a Voice over Internet Protocol
(VoIP) IP Centrex Company. Ms Hanafan grew the company into one of the largest B2B VoIP enterprises nationally through a combination of organic growth and key mergers and acquisitions. Before founding
Onit, she was Senior Vice President of worldwide sales and marketing for VCampus Corporation, where she significantly increased market share in the corporate, government and commercial segments.
Prior to VCampus Corporation, Ms. Hanafan served as
Senior Vice President of core and enterprise services at
Primedia Workplace Learning, a satellite based learning
company managing nine of the company’s 11 operating and
sales divisions and delivering 75 percent of the
company's total revenues. As Executive Vice President
for Internet service provider BroadbandNow, Ms. Hanafan
played an integral role in creating the company’s
business plan, raising over $100 million in pre-IPO
capital and launched the company’s nationwide
operations, sales and marketing team.
Ms. Hanafan's other prior positions included Vice
President for Archstone Communities, Inc., a national
REIT managing operations and other segments of the
organization. She served as Director of
Telecommunications, Inc. in which she was responsible
for growth of new products, mergers and acquisitions and
managing operations until the company merged with AT&T.
Prior to Telecommunications, Inc., Ms. Hanafan has had
other executive positions in which she was responsible
for the business plan, raising capital, sales, marketing
and operations of services and consumer products
nationally and internationally.
Ms. Hanafan received her Bachelor of Science in Biology
from
OldDominionUniversity
and her Bachelor of Arts in
Chemistry from Ole Miss. She currently sits on the board
of Onit Communications Inc. and other boards in various
industries. Ms. Hanafan is an advisory board member to
an investment banking firm and a board member to a
non-profit organization in preventive care for urban
areas.
George DeCourcy
Chief Financial Officer and Director
Mr. DeCourcy has over 30 years financial management experience in high tech and other business sectors. Since 2002, he has served as president of Dallas-based Carriage Financial, where he spearheaded financings for manufacturing, distribution and real estate enterprises as well as assembling portfolio financings for numerous clients.
From 1995 through 2001, Mr. DeCourcy was co-founder, president and CFO of Anacom Communications, Inc., one of the first Internet-based processors of credit card transactions for merchants. Prior to this, he served as executive vice president and CFO at Senior Living Properties, where he designed a publicly traded real estate investment trust for the senior housing industry. Earlier, he was executive vice president and CFO at Triland International Inc., where he structured, negotiated and drafted over 100 joint venture transactions with private and institutional
investors.
He started his career as a tax manager with Arthur Andersen & Company, where he serviced clients in the manufacturing, real estate investment and banking industries. Mr. DeCourcy holds degrees in accounting, finance and economics from Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada, and is an MBA candidate at the University of Texas at Dallas.
